Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 2, 2026

Last Updated: July 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the AnglerTech mobile application (the "App") and the websites anglertechapp.com and anglertech.app (collectively, the "Services"), operated by [Your Company Legal Name] ("AnglerTech," "we," "us," or "our").

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may optionally provide a profile photo or display name.
  • Photos and Camera Content. With your permission, the App can access your device's camera and photo library so you can capture and upload photos (for example, photos of your catches). We collect the photos you choose to upload, along with any captions or details you attach to them.
  • Communications. If you contact us for support or feedback, we collect the contents of your message and your contact information.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data. With your permission, we collect your device's precise location (GPS) to provide location-based features such as tagging catch locations, mapping fishing spots, and showing nearby conditions. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings; some features may not work without it.
  • Crash and Diagnostic Data. We receive crash logs and performance diagnostics (such as device model, operating system version, and error reports) through Apple's built-in crash reporting, if you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with app developers in your device settings. We use this information solely to identify and fix bugs. We do not use third-party analytics tools.
  • Server Logs. Like most online services, our servers automatically record basic technical information when the App communicates with them, such as IP address, request timestamps, and app version, which we use for security, troubleshooting, and operating the Services.
  • Device Information. We collect basic device identifiers and technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, and time zone.

1.3 Photo Metadata

Photos taken with modern devices may contain embedded metadata, including the date, time, and GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken. If you upload photos, this metadata may be collected along with the image.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and operate the Services;
  • Create and manage your account;
  • Enable core features such as logging catches, tagging locations, and storing photos;
  • Process purchases and subscriptions (see Section 4);
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix crashes and technical issues, and improve the App's performance and reliability;
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, security alerts, and support requests;
  • Enforce our terms, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the safety of our users;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. Tracking

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes, and we do not share your data with data brokers. Accordingly, the App does not display the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because no tracking (as defined by Apple) occurs.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

We use third-party payment processors to handle purchases and subscriptions. We do not collect or store your full payment card details.

  • Apple In-App Purchases. Purchases made within the App are processed by Apple through the App Store's in-app purchase system. Apple provides us with limited transaction information (such as confirmation that a purchase was made and subscription status) so we can activate your purchase. Subscriptions purchased this way are managed through your Apple ID account settings. Apple's handling of your payment information is governed by Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
  • Stripe. Payments made through our websites are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects your payment card details directly and provides us with limited information such as transaction confirmation, the last four digits of your card, and billing email. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by its privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers. We use trusted third-party vendors to help us operate the Services, such as cloud hosting, data storage, and crash reporting providers. These providers may process your information only on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Payment Processing. As described in Section 4, purchases are processed by Apple and Stripe.
  • Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
  • Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
  • With Your Consent. We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We retain certain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain business records.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law. Crash and diagnostic data is retained in aggregated or de-identified form.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You may delete your account at any time directly within the App by going to Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by contacting us at [contact email]. Deleting your account will remove your profile, uploaded photos, catch logs, and associated personal data from our active systems, subject to the retention exceptions described in Section 6.

8. Your Choices and Controls

  • Location. You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device's Settings.
  • Camera and Photos. You can grant or revoke camera and photo library access at any time in your device's Settings.
  • Account Information. You can update your account details within the App.
  • Communications. You may opt out of non-essential emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages. We may still send you service-related communications (such as security or billing notices).

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [contact email].

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.

12. Your Privacy Rights

12.1 All Users

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at [contact email] or using the in-app tools described above.

12.2 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under applicable data protection law:

  • The right to access, correct, or delete your personal data;
  • The right to restrict or object to processing;
  • The right to data portability;
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent);
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Our legal bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you (providing the Services), your consent (e.g., location and photo access), our legitimate interests (e.g., analytics, security, and service improvement), and compliance with legal obligations.

12.3 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what categories of personal information we collect and how we use and share it (as described in this policy);
  • Access the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you;
  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

We do not sell or share (as defined by the CPRA) your personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at [contact email]. We will verify your request using the email address associated with your account.

12.4 Other Jurisdictions

Residents of other states or countries with applicable privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Canada under PIPEDA) may have similar rights and can exercise them by contacting us at [contact email].

13. Third-Party Links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App, by email, or by posting the updated policy on anglertechapp.com with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
